Images in Blackness
Images in Blackness is a yearly film screening and discussion series that addresses how film and mass media represent people of African descent, how those representations affect perceptions of people of African descent, and how filmmakers of African descent participate in the film industry.
The annual series, initiated as a Library and Media Center event, hosts 3-4 films and discussion panels organized around a theme. This 2014-15 theme is Oral Histories/Based on Real Life. Guests have included Thomas Allen Harris (“Through a Lens Darkly”), directors/participants in the Pan African Film Festival, screening of the film, “42”, and Kimberly Williams of Ink Spot Productions.
Please see the Bunche Center calendar for information about individual events.
